Plus, don’t even get me started on how this will wreck your metabolism, thus making it harder to maintain your new weight (and stopping the pounds from piling back on).

With that said, upon further investigation, it appears that the 14-day Rapid Soup Diet is very different.

What is the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet?

The 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet is, as the name suggests, a 14-day eating plan that involves consuming soup as ONE of your daily meals (typically your final meal of the day).

Who is the Face Behind the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet?

I don’t know about you, but I always like to know a little about the creator of any program or product that I’m looking to purchase.

The only information you’ll find about the program creator is that his name is Josh, and that he spent years being bullied at school because he was overweight.

However, after some further investigation I discovered that this is in fact, Josh Houghton.

Josh previously created another weight loss program, Flat Belly Detox.

Admittedly, the Flat Belly Detox is also based around eating certain types of soup (but in the morning, as opposed to the evening), although the program is more than double the price of the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet.

However, there was more information about exercise and motivation in Josh’s previous program.

There’s not much more to know about Josh, apart from the fact that he managed to eventually lose 110lbs, and has kept the weight off.

Unfortunately, Josh doesn’t carry any professional qualifications.

So, he’s not a Doctor, nutritionist, or personal trainer.

This doesn’t overly bother me, as I am more than aware that people can become “experts” in their own right through years of study and research, as well as trial-and-error in their own lives.

Nevertheless, if you’re going to produce weight loss programs, it’s always nice to know exactly who you’re dealing with.

So, a little more information about Josh wouldn’t go amiss.


How Does the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet Work?

The basic principle behind the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet is to get the lymphatic system, or lymph system, working again through eating certain foods.

I think the best way I can describe the lymphatic system is it is the body’s natural garbage disposal unit.

As long as the lymph system is working correctly it will eliminate excess waste and toxins from the body.

We are actually exposed to many more toxins on a daily basis than you could ever imagine.

Firstly, there’s processed and chemically-based foods.

However, other toxins that we are exposed to include, beauty products, plastics, household cleaning products, and various toxins in the environment.

All of these things can actually slow down or completely stop the efficient functioning of the lymphatic system.

The body needs to eliminate these toxins in order for us to live in optimal health.

The toxins can impact on our immunity system, and can certainly be the cause for excess weight, and even cellulite.

The way in which this will be achieved is based on a number of scientific studies.

These studies have proven time-and-time again that the vast majority of people with clogged lymphs appeared to be lacking 3 important minerals in the body.

What Did I Think of the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet?

Yet another “diet” program that has me in two minds.

At face value this is a modified-Keto diet, which includes wholesome soups for your evening meal.

So, in reality the aim here is to lower your carb intake, thus meaning that a few days into your “diet” the body will start burning fat for energy rather than carbs.

Additionally, you will also be consuming fewer calories by eating a meal of soup once a day.

Therefore, if you want me to answer the question, “Will I lose weight by following the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet?”

Then I have to answer, “Yes you will.”

However, just as with most diets I don’t see this as being sustainable in the long-term.

Plus, I hate the fact that most diets need to be adhered to for a set amount of time.

Then what?

Do you return to your “normal” of eating?

If so, it only makes sense that you’ll put the weight back on.

Plus, as I mentioned in my introduction, often diets have a way of slowing down the metabolism due to the starvation nature of them.

A slower metabolism means that you will burn fewer calories throughout the day, which in turn means that you are likely to put on weight even if you are consuming the same amount of calories as you normally do.

With that said, I do know that most Keto-based diets, and indeed the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet, won’t have this effect on the metabolism.

This is simply because of the amount of protein and “good fats” that you are consuming will provide greater satiety, as well as helping to control blood sugar levels.

Funnily enough, this is probably the most positive thing I have said about Keto and any diet in general.

My main issue is that carbs really aren’t the enemy, just typically the type of the carbs we consume, and often the amount.

Look, if you overeat any of the macronutrients, whether it’s carbs, protein, or fats, then you’re going to put on weight.

I would also say we are far more attracted to the “bad carbs” and this is often why they lead to weight gain.

  • Baked potato or chips (fries)?
  • Brown rice or egg fried rice?
  • Greek Yoghurt or ice cream?
  • Wholemeal bread or a Danish pastry?

You get my meaning.

So, any diet that severely restricts a particular type of food, or entire food group, i.e. carbs, usually doesn’t impress me.

With that said, as I have mentioned, the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet will help you to lose weight and it won’t harm your metabolism.

Finally, onto the sales page, plus the various claims Josh makes once inside the program.

The sales page is just basically a great deal of over-the-top claims and hype.

Now don’t get me wrong, many of the claims that Josh has made are actually true and they are backed by scientific evidence.

It’s just the way he goes about it that I don’t like.

I guess this is typical modern-day marketing though.

Preying on people’s insecurities, as well as their heartstrings, in the hope of making a sale.

You’ll see exactly what I mean when you get to the next page.

Plus there’s talk of the value of the program and bonuses being 100s of $$$ and that you’re getting a $50 discount if you buy now, and that Josh doesn’t know how long he can provide this discount for.

Well that’s just plain old BS.

This is a marketing ploy to create scarcity, and to get you to make an immediate purchase.

All-in-all, there are some positives to the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet and you will definitely lose weight by following it.

It’s just not inline with the way I like to eat and it’s not a diet that I would follow.

  1. “The program is aimed at both men and women over 50” – really? Look at the picture on the book. If this couple is over 50, I am Methusalem. Being a very visually oriented person, I am set off immediately by these kinds of pictures.

    I agree with you that most diets don’t work. Here is experience talking. 🙂 And you know that the last time I made a serious effort to lose weight, I didn’t call it a diet (which maybe it is, but then of my own fabrication) but a change of lifestyle habits.

    Another thing that sets me off is the choice of food. But that is a cultural thing. The way the English and Americans eat is so hugely different from the way the Dutch eat. Which again is a matter of habit, of course.

    I couldn’t think of eating sausages in the morning or cheese and egg waffles. Or how about what you describe as lunch: Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich.

    But it was an interesting read, Partha. And since you weren’t too positive yourself, it doesn’t matter much that I am not positive either, LOL. It does leave me wondering if anybody would ever decide to buy this diet after such a review?

      Great to hear form you as always. Plus, I knew you’d have a few things to say here, LOL.

      It’s funny you talk about the cultural choice of foods, as this is something that has always amazed me.

      I’ve visited a number of countries around the world, and I always ensure that I “convert” to the way of eating wherever I am.

      I know this may sound impossible for some people, especially those who simply can’t seem to live without certain foods, but I’ve always been one to try everything and experiment as much possible.

      I know in various Asian countries that I have visited, what is eaten for breakfast I wouldn’t even consider when I’m back home in the UK, and I often find myself thinking that it’s missing certain nutrients or even entire macronutrients, and yet I still indulge.

      As for the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet it is a program that leaves me in somewhat of a quandry.

      As you’re probably aware by now, I’m not a huge fan of “diets” in general and the Keto diet certainly bothers me, as there are so little carbs on offer.

        But wouldn’t you lose weight by any 14-day rapid something? 14 days just bread. 14 days on nuts. A fad Dutch diet a couple of years ago promoted only eating ‘eierkoeken’, a typical kind of egg cake. 🙂

        • Haha, to be honest Hannie, for anyone looking to lose weight, the equation is simple – consume less calories than you burn a day.

          I’ve said this on countless occasions, and I’ve even included a very tongue-in-cheek example on one of my articles.

          You could actually eat burgers, pizzas, chips, biscuits, ice cream, pies, pastries, cakes, etc. every single day of the week.

          However, if you ran a marathon every single day of the week, you would lose weight.

          With that said, it would be pretty much impossible to maintain this on a long-term basis, you would still probably have rolls of fat on your body, even though you’re losing weight, because of the foods you are eating, and who knows what terrible things you are doing to your internal organs by consuming this type of a diet.

          So, Yes, in answer to your question, you could spend 14 days eating just one type of food, and as long as you were consuming less calories than you were burning, you would lose weight.

          With that said, this is not strictly what the 14-Day Rapid Soup Diet is about – you are only consuming soup as one meal a day, the rest of the time you are following a modified Keto diet, plus the soups are very different from what we would normally associate with the word “soup”.

          So, there is a little more to it than simply one type of food for a couple of weeks.
