What Did I Think of The Ultimate Sled Dragging Manual?
I’ve never been fortunate enough to train with a prowler or sled.
However, myself and a group of gym buddies recreated a version for ourselves.
We basically used battle ropes and a series of sandbags and weight plates for pulling and dragging exercises.
And then a 24-inch plyo box, once again loaded with sandbags and weight plates, for pushing exercises.
All of us agreed that these were some of the best workouts that we had enjoyed in the gym.
Basically, sled workouts rock.
I can honestly say that my quads and calves were literally on fire more than they ever would be with a barbell or dumbbells.
Plus, the lat and bicep workout I got from pulling sandbags with a rope is something that I’d never experienced before.
So, I for one am a huge fan of these types of workouts.

Going through The Ultimate Sled Dragging Manual I definitely had a few “a-ha moments”.
I came across exercises that I had never even considered before.
Plus, I could have quite easily recreated these exercises with the makeshift equipment that we have access to at our local gym.

This really is an “ultimate guide” or a “definitive guide” to sled exercises.
With that being said, I wouldn’t say I’m blown away by the overall program.
Basically, if you want access to literally 100s of different exercises that you can perform with a sled (or makeshift sled) then you’re covered.
You’ll learn a huge number of different exercises.
You’ll discover how to set everything up, how to perform each exercise, and what muscles you are targeting.
However, I’ve become used to reviewing workout programs on this website that typically offer a huge amount of value.

Would I recommend The Ultimate Sled Dragging Manual?
In all honesty if you’re looking for a Strength and Conditioning workout program that is a little different from the norm then I’d recommend Nick Nilsson’s Metabolic Monsters.
Okay, Nick’s program utilizes barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, a power rack, and a bench.
So, pretty bog standard workout equipment.
However, his program also encompasses sledgehammers, sandbags, bands and chains.
Plus, there are even a few bodyweight workouts.
But the 75 different workouts that Nick introduces you to are all focused on cardio-resistance.
So, you can expect to pack on muscle and strength while blasting body fat.
Metabolic Monsters is also available for just $15.
It includes videos, printable workout logs and bonus material that covers diet and nutrition.
Therefore, if you’re simply looking for an alternative workout program for Strength and Conditioning then Metabolic Monsters would be my recommendation.
With that being said, if you really want to learn more about sled-based workouts then YES, I would recommend The Ultimate Sled Dragging Manual.
I wouldn’t say it’s the best strength and conditioning workout program I’ve ever come across.
