What is The WCT Strength Program?

Who is the Face Behind The WCT Strength Program?
The creator of the WCT Strength Program is Alex Robles, MD.
Alex is an OBGYN (obstetrician-gynecologist) physician, who currently works approximately 80 hours a week.
He also happens to be a certified personal trainer.
Both Alex and his wife, Brittany Robles, MD, have had a lifetime love for health and fitness.
However, as they are both physicians (and they are both certified personal trainers too) finding time to train became harder and harder.
Alex had spent years training 1.5-2 hours a day when he was younger.
Nevertheless, during residency and afterwards he was finding less time to train.
Alex typically found that he was missing workouts, or simply confused as to what to do with his limited time at the gym.

How Does The WCT Strength Program Work?
The WCT Strength Program is a 15-week step-by-step blueprint.
The program focuses on the “Big 6 Exercises”.
Namely, the squat, deadlift, horizontal push and pull, and vertical push and pull.

What Did I Think of The WCT Strength Program?
I’m in two minds about the WCT Strength Program.
Allow me to explain.
Firstly, I love the fact that the program is focused around “The Big 6”.
I am an advocate of the “less is more” method of training.
Now don’t get me wrong, over the decades I have probably regularly performed 1,000s of different exercises.
I have even completed 2-hour workouts for many years too.
However, I honestly believe that everything stems from just sticking to the basics.
If you want to get incredibly strong.
If your goal is to pack on muscle.
Or if you want to lose weight or burn body fat.
Forget everything else you’ve ever been told or have learned.
If you just focus on the big compound exercises, and their variations, you can achieve ALL of the goals above.
So, the exercises and workout focus of the WCT Strength Program was a big plus point for me.
I also really like the fact that there is a specific training template.
Look, the WCT Strength Program is aimed at busy, professional people.
As someone who would purchase the WCT Strength Program you typically work a full-time job and you probably have a family.
You enjoy exercise and fitness, but you’re finding it harder to make time for it.
So, being told EXACTLY what to do for every workout is once again a huge plus point.
Furthermore, something that really struck a chord with me was that Alex makes room for changes to the workouts.
If you’re full of energy and have some extra time on a particular day, Alex explains how you can fit in some extra exercises.
In the same vein, if you’re short on time, and even 30 minutes seems like too much, once again Alex has you covered and explains how to shorten a workout.
Plus, you’ll learn how to lengthen or shorten a workout without it impacting on its effectiveness.
So far so good, right?
The WCT Strength Program is Not The Best (But it’s Not The Worst Either)
With that being said, I will say that the WCT Strength Program is more aimed towards beginners who have less than one year’s training experience.
I would even suggest that this is a good fit for an intermediate trainee, who’s short on time and wants to get back to basics.
However, as a high-level intermediate or advanced trainee, I wouldn’t suggest the WCT Strength Program.
There’s nothing wrong with going back to basics as an advanced trainee, but this is all bread-and-butter stuff.
There’s nothing particularly new here.
Additionally, I found the program to be a little pricey for what you get.
In fact, I have purchased, used, and reviewed workout programs that are far less than half the price, and have a vast amount of additional material.
The nearest program in terms of exercises and workouts would be Isometrics Mass, which at $9 is a fraction of the price of the WCT Strength Program.
Plus, there is a huge amount of information provided in Isometrics Mass, which dwarfs what you’ll find in the WCT Strength Program.
The workouts are also typically only 30 minutes long.
I’m talking about videos, training logs, diet and nutrition advice, and even a bodyweight edition.
Basically, it packs far more punch and is less than 20% the price of this program.
With that being said, the vast array of additional information will take a lot longer to work through.
I guess the whole crux of the WCT Strength Program is that you simply don’t have time to muck about.
You don’t want to spend time reading through various workouts, watching YouTube videos, or having to read a dozen plus workout program reviews.
The whole point is you want to get strong, muscular, and fit, and you want to know exactly what to do NOW.
If this sounds like you, then yes I would recommend the WCT Strength Program.

Plus, I like the fact that everything is laid out for you.
With that being said, I’m not blown away by the WCT Strength Program.
I have personally reviewed other workout programs on this site that I believe provide far more information and that cost far less.
However, if you’re short on time and simply want a decent workout program to follow then I do recommend the WCT Strength Program.
